The ant and the dove
One hot day, an ant was searching for some water. After walking around for some time, she came to a spring. To reach the spring, she had to climb up a blade of grass. While making her way up, she slipped and fell into the water.
She could have drowned if a dove up a nearby tree had not seen her. Seeing that the ant was in trouble, the dove quickly plucked a leaf and dropped it into the water near the strug- gling ant. The ant moved towards the leaf and climbed up onto it. Soon, the leaf drifted to dry ground, and the ant jumped out of it. She was safe at last.
Just at that time, a hunter was about to throw his net over the dove, hoping to trap it.
Guessing what he was about to do, the ant quickly bit him on the heel. Feeling the pain, the hunter dripped his net. The dove quickly flew away.
Moral: one good turn begets another.
مورچه و کبوتر
در یک روز گرم مورچه ای به دنبال کمی آب بود. بعد از کمی راه رفتن در آن اطراف به سرچشمه ای .رسید برای اینکه بتواند به سرچشمه برسد مجبور بود از لبه علف بالا برود همانطور که داشت از علف بالا می رفت، سر خورد و به داخل آب افتاد
اگر کبوتری که در نزدیکی آنجا روی درختی نشسته بود مورچه را ندیده بود. او حتماً غرق میشد کبوتر که دید مورچه به دردسر افتاده است فوراً برگی از درخت کند و آن را داخل آب کنار مورچه در حال غرق شدن انداخت مورچه به طرف برگ شنا کرد و از آن بالا رفت. طولی نکشید که برگ به خشکی رسید و مورچه از آن بیرون آمد. او بالاخره نجات پیدا کرده بود.

. در همان لحظه سر و کله شکارچی پیدا شد و نزدیک بود که تورش را روی سر کبوتر بیندازد و او را به دام اندازد
مورچه که حدس زده بود خیلی سریع پاشنه پای شکارچی را گاز گرفت. شکارچی
از درد تور را به زمین انداخت و کبوتر فوراً پرواز کرد.. نکته اخلاقی از هر دستی بدی از همان دست پس میگیری.                                                                                


‘Hmmm, what can I paint?’ she thought.
She looked around and saw a duck on the pond.
‘I know! I’ll paint a duck!’
So she did. Suddenly, the duck flew off the paper and onto the pond.
‘Wow!’ she said. ‘A magic paintbrush!’
Rose was a very kind girl and she painted pictures for everyone in her village.
She painted a cow for the farmer, pencils for the teacher and toys for all the children.
The king heard about the magic paintbrush and sent a soldier to find Rose.
‘Come with me,’ said the soldier. ‘The king wants you to paint some money for him.’
‘But he’s already rich,’ said Rose.
‘I only paint to help poor people.’
But the nasty soldier took Rose to the king.
‘Paint me a tree with lots of money on it,’ he shouted.
Rose was brave and said, ‘No!’
So the king sent her to prison.
But Rose painted a key for the door and a horse to help her escape.
The king chased after her.
So she painted a big hole, and splat!
The king fell in.
Today, Rose only uses her magic paintbrush to help people who really, really need help.

At a party, a young wife admonished her husband, “That’s the fourth time you’ve gone back for ice cream and cake. Doesn’t it embarrass you?”
 
“Why should it?” answered her spouse. “I keep telling them it’s for you.”
 
در یک مهمانی، زن جوانی به شوهرش گفت: «این چهارمین باریه که به سراغ بستنی و کیک‌ها می‌ری. خجالت نمی‌کشی؟»
 
«چرا باید خجالت بکشم؟ من به اونا می‌گم که اینا رو برای تو می‌گیرم.»





A pair of cows were talking in the field. One says, “Have you heard about the mad cow disease that’s going around?”
 
“Yeah,” the other cow says. “Makes me glad I’m a penguin.”
 
یک جفت گاو در مزرعه‌ای مشغول صحبت بودند. یکی از آن‌ها می‌گوید: «آیا در مورد بیماری جنون گاوی که اخیرا پخش شده، چیزی شنیدی؟».
 
گاو دیگر می‌گوید: «آره. خداروشکر که پنگوئن هستم!!

The Talking Dog
 
One day, a man was walking through the park when he saw a dog sitting on a bench, wearing sunglasses. The dog looked very cool, so the man approached him and asked, "Hey, are you a special dog?"
 
The dog replied, "Well, I guess you could say that. I can talk!"
 
The man was shocked. "What? You can talk?"
 
The dog nodded. "Yes, I can. And I’ve had an exciting life. I’ve worked as a spy, a detective, and even a movie star!"
 
The man could hardly believe it. "No way! How did you end up sitting on a bench in the park?"
 
The dog sighed. "It’s a long story. But mostly because no one believes me when I say I can talk. I think I should get an Oscar for my acting in Detective Dog!"
 
The man laughed and said, "Well, if you're really a movie star, can you tell me what’s going to happen in my future?"
 
The dog smiled and said, "You’ll be late for dinner if you keep standing here talking to me."
 
The man chuckled and walked away, realizing that sometimes, the best conversations are with the most unexpected characters.

روزی روزگاری، مردی در حال قدم زدن در پارک بود که ناگهان دید سگی روی یک نیمکت نشسته و عینک آفتابی به چشم دارد. سگ خیلی باکلاس به نظر می‌رسید، بنابراین مرد به سمتش رفت و از او پرسید: "هی، تو سگ خاصی هستی؟"
 
سگ جواب داد: "خب، می‌تونم بگم که هستم. من می‌تونم صحبت کنم!"
 
مرد شوکه شد. "چی؟ تو می‌تونی صحبت کنی؟"
 
سگ سرش را تکان داد. "بله، می‌تونم. و من یه زندگی هیجان‌انگیز داشتم. به عنوان جاسوس، کارآگاه و حتی ستاره سینما کار کرده‌ام!"
 
مرد به سختی می‌توانست باور کند. "مطمئنی؟ چطور شد که روی این نیمکت توی پارک نشستی؟"
 
سگ آه کشید. "این یه داستان طولانیه. ولی بیشتر به این خاطر که هیچ‌کس وقتی می‌گم می‌تونم حرف بزنم، باور نمی‌کنه. فکر می‌کنم باید یه جایزه اسکار برای بازی‌ام در سگ کارآگاه بگیرم!"
 
مرد خندید و گفت: "خب، اگه واقعا ستاره سینما هستی، می‌تونی بگی آینده من چی میشه؟"
 
سگ لبخند زد و گفت: "اگه همینطور اینجا وایسی و با من حرف بزنی، برای شام دیر می‌رسی."
 
مرد خندید و از آنجا رفت، متوجه شد که بعضی وقت‌ها بهترین گفتگوها با عجیب‌ترین شخصیت‌هاست.

Here's a short story in English with its Persian translation:
English: Once upon a time, there was a little bird named Charlie. Charlie lived in a big tree with his family. One day, a strong wind blew, and Charlie was blown far away from his home. He was scared and didn't know how to get back. After flying for hours, he saw a kind old owl. The owl said, "Don't worry, little bird. I will help you find your way home."
The owl guided Charlie through the forest, past the big river, and over the mountains. Finally, after a long journey, they arrived back at Charlie's tree. Charlie was so happy and thanked the owl. He learned that even when you feel lost, help can come from the most unexpected places.

حقایقی جالب در مورد زبان انگلیسی

1_تعداد انگلیسی زبانان سرتاسر جهان به یک میلیارد و نیم نفر میرسد
 
این تعداد یعنی حدود 20 درصد از کل جمعیت دنیا! حدود 600 تا 700 میلیون نفر از این تعداد که به زبان انگلیسی مسلط هستند افرادی غیر انگلیسی زبان هستند که زبان انگلیسی را بعد از زبان مادری خود آموخته اند.
 
 
2_هر دو ساعت یک کلمه به دیکشنری انگلیسی افزوده میشود 
 
نویسندگان دیکشنری آکسفورد تخمین زده اند که هر ساله حدود 4000 لغت جدید به دیکشنری افزوده می شود. این یعنی هر دو ساعت یک کلمهsurprised
 
 
 
3_در گذشته زبان انگلیسی به جای 26 حرف دارای 29 حرف بوده است 
 
حروف الفبای زبان انگلیسی طی زمان کمتر شد!
یکی از دلایل این کاهش در کنار هم قرار دادن دو حرف و ایجاد یک صدا و حرف جدید بوده است
